Biography
The Myriade Quartet, based in Montreal, has been selected to participate in the prestigious international competitions of Wigmore Hall, Banff, and Trondheim. As quartet-in-residence at the Prince Edward County Festival, they presented lecture-recitals followed by concerts in 2022 in collaboration with Charles-Richard Hamelin, Angela Park, and Sharon Wei of the New Orford String Quartet.
In recent seasons, the quartet has appeared at the Colorado Music Festival as well as at the Unionville Music Academy as quartet-in-residence, in the inaugural concert of the new series at Montreal's Jewish Public Library, at the Chapelle Historique du Bon-Pasteur, in the Baptême concert series in Saguenay, at the McGill International String Quartet Academy (MISQA) as a senior quartet, in the Lakeshore series, at the Concerts aux Îles du Bic festival, and at various Maisons de Culture in Québec.
Recently, the Myriade recorded Bartók's Quartet No. 2 and Haydn's Quartet Op. 74 No. 1 with the generous support of the Toronto Arts & Letters Club. The quartet was formed at McGill University under the tutelage of André Roy and has since benefited from the guidance of the Danish String Quartet, the Jerusalem Quartet, and of Mathieu Herzog, Mark Steinberg, Peter Oundjian, Philip Setzer, Ralph de Souza, Petr Prause, Jeffrey Myers, Richard O'Neill, and Ani Kavafian.
